WHAT IS HULA?

Hula gives movement to story and story to movement.

It carries prayer, discipline, memory, observation, presence, and relationship through the body.

To approach Hula only as performance is to stand at the doorway and never enter the house.

Movement alone is not the centre.

Connection is.

• Hula as embodied storytelling

• Hula and relationship with spirit, the gods, ancestry, and land

• Rhythm, discipline, observation, and presence

• What gives Hula its life beneath movement

Live guided sessions.

Direct teaching and exploration.

Guided expression of Pule and Oli.

Conversation, observation, and entry into the deeper essence
and understandings of Hula within Mana O Kahiko.
